Dietary Changes for Celiac Disease

Celiac disease, a chronic Celiac disease is when your body gets upset with gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, rye, and sometimes oats. When you have this problem, gluten hurts the tiny finger-like parts in your small intestine called villi.

These villi are like little workers that help your body absorb good stuff from food. But when they get hurt, they can’t do their job right, so you don’t get all the good stuff from your food, even if you eat a lot.

This can make you weak and sick. Some problems that can happen because of celiac disease are feeling tired a lot, having seizures (like when your body shakes a lot), joint pain (when your bones hurt), having bones that break easily, and sometimes even cancer.
